Mrs. Mary B. (Berkey) Fry, 81, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Saturday morning, June 27, 2026, in her home and surrounded by her family.
Born November 12, 1944 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Helen (Maxheimer) Berkey. She was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area.
Mary graduated from Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the Class of 1962. She later earned her Associate’s Degree in English from St. Mary’s College and attended Hagerstown Junior College.
She and her husband of over 61 years, Robert M. “Bob” Fry, were married on August 22, 1964.
Mary was a hardworking homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother.
She was a member of Faith in Christ United Methodist Church, Waynesboro and in her early life was a member of the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren.
Mary was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed quilting and embroidery. She started the Prayer Shawl Ministry at Faith in Christ (Christ United Methodist Church).
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Amy F. Weber (Kurt) and Hannah C. Fry (Rodger Savage), both of Waynesboro; three grandchildren, Margaret Gast, Benjamin Weber and Catharine Weber; three great-grandchildren, Mary, Myra and Kent; one sister, Virginia Kline of Wheaton, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Stout.
Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
