Mrs. Martha (Baylor) Kirby, 79, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2025 in Frederick Health and Rehabilitation Center, Frederick, MD.
Born February 9, 1946 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Robert S. Baylor, Jr. and Martha (Gourley) Baylor.
Martha was a graduate of the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf in Philadelphia, PA with the Class of 1966.
She was employed by Teledyne Landis Machine Co. and AMP, Inc. She retired in June 2011.
Martha was a member of Deaf Quilt Guild of Frederick, MD and Deaf Quilters of Martinsburg, WV.
In addition to her love of quilting, she enjoyed pigs, crocheting and spending time with her family.
Martha is survived by her daughter, Martha K. “Marti” Blattenberger and her husband, Paul of Richmond, TX; two grandchildren, Taylor D. Blattenberger (Brittany) of Raleigh, NC and Margo A. Laman (Evan) of Lawton, OK; two great-grandchildren, Johnnie Paul Laman and Cora Jean Laman; one brother, William G. Baylor of Marietta, GA; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Ray Kirby who passed away March 17, 1999; two sisters, Mary Jane Hess and Grace M. Baylor; and three brothers, G. Thomas Baylor, John G. Baylor and Robert S. Baylor, III.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 13, 2025 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with the Rev. Dr. Peter Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Saturday morning, in the funeral home.
