Marsha Stoops, born February 14, 1950, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2026, surrounded by the love and memories of the family who meant everything to her.
Marsha was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She loved her family beyond words and took immense pride in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her family was her greatest joy, and the memories she created with them will be treasured forever.
Marsha was a woman who lived life in her own way. Independent, strong-willed, witty, fun-loving, and never afraid to be herself, she brought a unique spirit to everyone who knew her. She believed in being true to who she was and had a wonderful sense of humor and an unmistakable zest for life.
Her love extended far beyond her family. Marsha was a lifelong and passionate animal lover. She devoted 19 years of her life to the Antietam Humane Society, where she cared for countless animals in need. Her compassion was so great that many of those animals ultimately found their way into her own home and heart. She had a special gift for seeing the goodness in animals that others might have overlooked, and she gave so many of them the love and safety they deserved.
Marsha was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Lydia Barton-Bayer.
Marsha is survived by her son, Kevin Stoops (Tracey;)her daughter, Elaine Huff (Craig), her grandchildren, Gage Stoops (Erin) Alex Stoops; Codey Huff (Madison) Camry Huff (Kaelyn) Barton Bayer; Amber Bayer; and Amanda Bayer; and her great-grandchildren, Franklin and Mia Huff.
Though her passing leaves an immeasurable emptiness for those who loved her, Marsha’s legacy will live on through her family, the many lives she touched, and the countless animals she loved and cared for throughout her life.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. Her memory will live on in the stories we tell, the laughter we share, and the love she gave so freely.
At Ms. Stoop’s request, there will be no funeral services.
