Marna J. (Moore) Yingling, 55, of Waynesboro, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 11, 2024 surrounded by her family.
Born January 5, 1969 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of Mrs. Margaret D. (Deardorff) Moore of Waynesboro and the late Ira H. Moore who passed away November 13, 2023.
Marna was a graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the Class of 1987. She then attended Shippensburg University.
During high school, Marna worked at Twin Kiss. She then went on to work at several daycare facilities including Magic Years and Kids Care. For more than 20 years she was employed by AHEDD, helping individuals with disabilities with employment.
She was an active member of Five Forks Church, helping with the Girls Club, in the nursery and Bible School. She also was a member of the women’s group, Common Bond.
While her daughters were growing up, Marna was involved in the Girl Scouts. She also devoted countless hours and spent summer days at a softball field serving as the Mason Dixon Blaze’s secretary and famous scorekeeper.
A devoted wife, mother and Nana, Marna loved spending time with her family whether going on a trip or just hosting a party under the pavilion.
In addition to her mother, she leaves behind her husband of 32 years, Troy W. Yingling who she married June 13, 1992; two daughters, Mariah L. Hill and her husband, Tanner and Jennifer H. Garland and her husband, Anthony, all of Waynesboro; two grandchildren she dearly loved, Madeline J. Hill and Myles T. Garland; and brother, Thomas Moore. Aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces as well as a host of extended family and friends also survive.
Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, June 15, 2024 in the auditorium at Five Forks Church, 9244 Five Forks Road, Waynesboro with Pastor Bill Shank officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery, near Quincy.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M., Friday in the auditorium at Five Forks Church.
