Mr. Marion Lomax, 73. Of Hagerstown, died Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown. He was the husband of Mrs. Linda Ann Lewis Lomax, his wife of 56 years.
Born April 9, 1949, in Hempstead, Long Island, New York, he was a son of the late Horace Lomax and Pansy Drantt. He attended William T. Sampson, Public School 160, Brooklyn, New York.
Mr. Lomax was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, New York.
He was an avid card player, particularly enjoying poker, dancing and listening to music. He also enjoyed following football, especially his team, the New York Giants; and watching television serials from “Law And Order” and “CIS” to “Bonanza” and “Gun Smoke.”
Besides his wife, Mr. Lomax is survived by his children, Michelle Tompkins Hines and husband Kareem of Georgia, Brian Lewis of New York, Marion Lomax. Jr., and Darren and Maurice Lewis, both of Hagerstown, Terrell Lewis of Texas, Keith and Kevin Lewis, also both of Hagerstown, Charessa Lewis and spouse Keyonna Robinson Lewis of Virginia, Tanisha Lewis of Silver Spring, Shaina Lewis of New York and Tony Lewis; his grandchildren Kaisson Thompkins, Shatoya and Latoya Lewis, Imani Celestine, Malaysia, Aniya, Nieea, Da’Shawn, Moriana, Sa’Mya, Jacob, keith, Anthony, Ny’el, Ta’Nya and Asia Lewis, Cattleya Lomax, and Kaliyah Lewis; several great-grandchildren; as well as siblings Kevin, Teddy, Lloyd Billy, Flossy, Sadie, Theresa Deborah, and Janet Lomax, all of New York; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Anthony Lewis.
The family will receive friends at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 East Antietam Street, Hagerstown, on Saturday, March 11, beginning at 10:00 AM, and until the funeral service beings at the funeral home at 11:00 AM with Rev. O. Charlotte Pan officiating.
