Mrs. Madeline F. “Maddie” (Stum) Miller, 95, a resident of Menno Haven Retirement Community, Chambersburg, PA and formerly of Waynesboro, PA passed away Monday morning, September 7, 2026, at the retirement community.

Born July 26, 1931 in Carlisle, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harold L. and Grace (Moffit) Stum. She lived her early life in the Carlisle area.

Maddie graduated from Carlisle High School with the Class of 1949.

She and her husband, the late Paul E. Miller, were married on August 26, 1951, in Carlisle, PA. Mr. Miller died on July 17, 2009.

Maddie worked for Cohu and Company, Carlisle, PA, in the stock brokerage department of Mutal Life of New York in Harrisburg, PA and was an office receptionist for Western Electric in Denver, CO.

She was a member of Otterbein Church, Waynesboro, Central Presbyterian Church, Chambersburg, the National AARP, Waynesboro United Way Board – where she was residential chairman for 15 years, Past President of YWCA Newcomer Club and Mother Club in Pottstown, PA and National Beta Sigma Ohi Sorority.

Maddie enjoyed needlework, crafts, traveling and designing flowers.

She is survived by one daughter, Marcy A. Rost (Andre Taylor) of Waynesboro; two sons, Steven A. Miller (Marina) of Long Boat Key, FL, and Douglas S. Miller (Natalie) of Wilkes-Barre, PA; four grandchildren, Kristie, Samantha, Daniel and Nathaniel; and six great-grandchildren, Nadia, Asher, Emily, Nolan, Jacob and Jordan.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, September 11, 2026, in the chapel at Brookview Healthcare Center, 1000 Northfield Drive, Chambersburg, PA with Chaplain Keith Elliott and Pastor John Hoffman officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle, PA.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Friday afternoon, in the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Otterbein Church, 912 S. Potomac Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268 or Central Presbyterian Church, 40 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
