Mabel S. Doyle, 99, a resident of Shook Home and formerly of Greencastle, PA, passed away on August 29, 2025, just one day after her beloved daughter, Linda Kay Mowen. Born October 11, 1925, near Upton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry L. and Alma Hughes Sweigert.
Mabel was a dedicated mother and farm wife. She spent most of her life making a home for her family and helping her husband on their dairy farm. Early in her life she was employed at the Stanley Co. in Chambersburg. Mabel was a member of the former St. Stephens United Church of Christ in Upton.
Mabel is survived by her daughter, Sue Grove (husband Vaughn) of Greencastle, two granddaughters, Danielle Hulock (husband Derrick) of Lancaster, and Amber Grove (fiancé Dan Lehman) of Greencastle; two great grandsons, Camden and Jaxsen Hulock; one great granddaughter, Evyn Hulock; and her son-in-law, Emory Dwain Mowen. Aside from her parents and daughter, Mabel was preceded in death by four siblings, Charles Sweigert, Henry Sweigert, Catherine Bowers and Alma Graham.
