Mr. Lorne H. Bevis, Jr., 88, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away Friday, October 3, 2025 in Forest Park Nursing & Rehab, Carlisle, PA.
Born February 28, 1937 in Cleveland, OH, he was the son of the late Lorne H., Sr. and Lillian (Stringer) Bevis.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Heidelburg University in 1959.
He and his wife, Mrs. Pattie Lupfer Bevis were married June 4, 1960 in Columbus, OH while he was serving in the United States Army. They began their life together in Burton, OH, and later moved to Chambersburg, PA by way of Kentucky in 1972. They enjoyed 65 years of marriage before Mrs. Bevis passed away July 15, 2025.
Mr. Bevis was employed at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, for 21 years. He retired in March 1993.
He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, the National Association of Active and Retired Federal Employees, and served as a volunteer firefighter in Burton, OH, Lexington, KY, and Fayetteville, PA.
He is survived by his two children, Steven Bevis of Queensbury, NY, and Nancy Sue Bevis Phillips and her husband Dr. James B. Phillips, of Middletown, MD; four grandchildren, Steven A. Bevis, Davis Phillips, Killian Bevis, and Kingston Bevis; and one sister, Linda Bevis Magruder of Havana, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
