Lois Mae (Gearhart) Holtry, 89, of Chambersburg, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Monday August 19th, 2024. She was born on Sunday March 24th, 1935 to the late Jacob and Pauline Gearhart in Greencastle. She was married to her beloved husband for thirty-six years the late Clinton E. Holtry who preceded her in 1995.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother Ira Gearhart, one sister Faye Lynch, step-mother Ada Gearhart, and step-family members. She is survived by two sisters Peggy Pensinger of Shippensburg and Erma Holtry of Chambersburg; plus many great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Lois graduated from Clay Hill High School 1957. She worked fifty plus years at the Stanley Textile Company as a seamstress. She decorated her home with sunflowers, her favorite flower. She loved to travel and ship on cruises. She enjoyed puzzle books and playing cards. She attended Grand Point Church for many years.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday August 23rd, 2024, at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, at 333 Falling Springs Rd. Chambersburg, PA 17202. Mr. Scott Despers officiating. A visitation will be held an hour prior. Burial to follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg.
