Ms. Lois J. (Gish) Rohrer, 77, of Waynesboro, PA and Quincy Village (PA) passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Chambersburg Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Born April 3, 1947 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Kathryn (Blake) Gish.

She was a graduate of Hagerstown Junior College with a degree in Secondary Elementary Education in 1976.  She later received her Bachelor of Science from Antietam Bible College in 1984.

Lois worked for many years as a full time professor at Hagerstown Business College, teaching business, English and accounting.  She was also an adjunct professor for the Hagerstown Business College.  Throughout her years of teaching, she served on numerous boards and committees at the colleges and in the education field.  Following her retirement from teaching, she worked for Arro Consulting in Lititz, PA for 10 years.  

She was a member of the former Pleasant Hill United Brethren Church, Coseytown, PA and enjoyed collecting lighthouses and staying in touch with her former students.

She is survived by two children, Donald E. Price (Eleanor) of Hagerstown, MD and Jana Sutherland (David) of Mt. Airy, MD; two grandchildren, Emily Sutherland and Will Sutherland; and several nieces and nephews.

She was the last of her immediate family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five siblings.

Services will be held at 7:00 P.M., Monday, July 8, 2024 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Rev. Lester Kauffman officiating. Burial will be private in Grant Point Cemetery (formerly Pleasant Hill Cemetery), Coseytown, PA.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Monday evening, in the funeral home.
