Mrs. Lois A. (LeGore) Carbaugh, 82, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2025, in York Hospital.

Born December 14, 1943, in Gettysburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Florence (Ohler) LeGore.

Mrs. Carbaugh attended Gettysburg High School and graduated with the Class of 1961.

She and her husband, the late Arthur B. “Artie” Carbaugh, Jr., were married August 12, 1988, in Hagerstown, MD. They enjoyed over 35 years of marriage together before Mr. Carbaugh passed away November 26, 2023.

Mrs. Carbaugh worked at John Wallace Kitchen, LSI Controls, Inc., and most recently Ingram Book Company LLC in Chambersburg where she retired.

Mrs. Carbaugh was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Gettysburg, an auxiliary member of the Joe Stickell Post 15 American Legion, and the V.F.W., both of Waynesboro. She was an avid reader who rarely went anywhere without a book in hand. She found joy in quiet moments spent solving puzzles and faithfully playing spider solitaire. Above all, she had a deep and unwavering love for her pets, who brought her comfort and companionship and were truly part of her family.

She is survived by her three children, Kristin (Carbaugh) Mowdy and her husband James of Waynesboro, Donna (Schildt) Stottlemyer and her husband John Jr., of Massillon, OH, and Michael Becker of Waynesboro; 4 grandchildren, Jason Stottlemyer, Jennifer McCoy, Nicholas Becker, Avery Mowdy; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was the last of her immediate family.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Laverne LeGore, Louetta Sterner, Lorraine Redding, Janet Fidler, and LaRuth Stavely.

A celebration of Mrs. Carbaugh’s life will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M., Saturday December 27, 2025, in Waynesboro Bible Church, 8216 Stottlemyer Road, Waynesboro.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to:  Antietam Human Society, 8513 Lyons Road, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
