Mrs. Linda Atlas Putterman, 79, of Hagerstown, died Monday morning, July 28, 2025 at Hospice of Washington County, Hagerstown. She was the wife of Alan, her husband of 55 years.
Born May 9, 1946, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Bert and Sandra Dranoff Atlas. She attended Temple University.
Mrs. Putterman served as a dental assistant and office manager for a dental practice in Kensington.
She was a member of Congregation B’Nai Abraham, Hagerstown; and formerly a longtime member of Congregation Tikvat Israel, Rockville.
Additionally, she was formerly a member of the Women’s Club, Hagerstown; Woman’s American ORT, having served on Local and National Boards, and was involved in establishing the PTA at Quince Orchard High School, Gaithersburg.
In addition to her husband Alan, she is survived by her sons Howard Ari and wife Leah Astor of Hagerstown, and Joshua David and wife Deana Moots of Severn; her grandchildren, Evan Matthew, Shayna Elise, Taylor Addison and Jake Adam; as well as by nieces and nephews, and several cousins.
Besides her parents, Linda was preceded in death by sisters Arlene Atkins, Connie Stern, Barbara Wilansky, and Gloria Gonzales.
The Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown, is assisting the family with arrangements. A service will be held graveside at Garden of Remembrance Memorial Park, 14321 Comus Road, Clarksburg, on Wednesday, July 30 at 10:00 AM. Rabbi Mark J. Perman will offer prayers.
