Lewis H. Cassner, 74, of Kuhn Avenue, Hagerstown, died Monday, February 27, 2012, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.

Born June 6, 1937, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Floyd Kenneth Cassner and Elsie G. Shoemaker Cassner King. He was raised by the late Clyde Leroy Miley and Ada May Hull Miley.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years Beulah Jane Keefer Cassner, on November 7, 1997.

Mr. Cassner was self-employed as a carpet installer; and worked with his daughter at the Silver Street Café, II. He served in the United States Army Reserves.

He attended Evangel Baptist Church, Hagerstown; and was a member of Funkstown American Legion Post 211, and life member of Blue Denim Boot Kickers.

Surviving are five children, Debbie A. Baker of Hagerstown, Diane C. Faith of Clear Spring, and Norma J. Harne, Lewis W. Cassner, Sr., both of Hagerstown, and David L. Cassner of Sharpsburg; fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; as well as his sister Betty F. Bailey of Hagerstown.

Besides his wife and parents, Mr. Cassner was preceded in death by his son, Eddie L. Cassner, and brother John K. Cassner.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2012, at 2:00 PM, at the Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 East Antietam Street, Hagerstown. The Rev. Ronald K. Faith will officiate. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
