Leonard W. Hunter, Jr., 94, of Oak Hill, Fl, passed away May 8, 2024. He was born May 15,1929 in Johnstown, PA, the son of the late Ruth and Dr. Leonard Hunter. Leonard grew up in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania and attended Chambersburg High School and Perkiomen Prep School. Leonard proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. Leonard was a semi-pro football player, watchmaker, and was a wonderful father, husband, brother, and son. Leonard found joy in hunting, fishing, archery, boxing, and traveling. He cherished moments spent with family and made it a tradition to take them on a fishing trip to Canada every year, creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter. He will be deeply missed by his spouse of 57 years, Eva Hunter, his son David L. Hunter, his daughter-in-law Heidy Hunter, and all of his friends and family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his three sisters, Elayne Bishop, Jeane Kohler, and Phyllis Hunter. Leonard will be remembered for his selfless nature, hardworking spirit, and unwavering love for his family. May he rest in peace.
