Mr. Lee G. Layman, 84, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Mercy House, Chambersburg, PA.

Born March 27, 1941 in Frederick, MD, he was the son of the late Lee Layman and Mary Katharine (Powell) Miller.

Mr. Layman graduated from Thurmont High School with the Class of 1960.

He and his wife of over 64 years, Barbara M. (Hoover) Layman, were married on May 28, 1961, in Thurmont.

Mr. Layman worked at Landis Tool Company, Waynesboro, as a plant engineer. He retired after nearly 40 years of service with the company.

He was an active member of The Church of the Transfiguration, where he served as treasurer and with the vestry. He was also a member of the Washington Township Municipal Authority, where he was currently treasurer and Acacia Lodge #586 F.&A.M., Waynesboro. In the 1970’s he served on Waynesboro Borough Council and helped to oversee the fire department.

Mr. Layman was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and was known for his community involvement and outreach. He was an avid reader, who enjoyed Hallmark movies and history, especially visits to the Gettysburg Battlefield.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Linda Prince (Wendell) of South Carolina and Lori DeLue (John) of Colorado; one granddaughter, Nicole DeLue; two half-brothers, Jae Miller and Rick Miller, both of Maryland; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Ernie Layman, Arlene Duke and Barbara Cutsail.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 1, 2025 in The Church of the Transfiguration, 13646 Summit Ave. Blue Ridge Summit, PA with Rev. Jody Barthle officiating. Burial will be private in Bethel Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the service in the church building.
