Leah A. Radecke, 77, of Thurmont, MD passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024.
Born June 24, 1947 in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Paul F. and Kathryn M. (Benchoff) Wise and John H. Radecke.
Leah was a graduate of Thurmont High School with the Class of 1965.
She began her working career with Moore Business Forms in 1966 and later continued her employment at R.R. Donnelly in Thurmont. She retired in 2013 after 47 years of service.
Leah was a member of St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ in Cascade, MD.
She enjoyed doing crafts, cryptograms and word puzzles of all kinds. She also was an avid reader.
Leah is survived by one sister, Linda McKissick of Chambersburg, PA; five nephews and their families, Paul McKissick (Alison), Guy McKissick (Melissa), Chuck McKissick (fiancée, Angie Berger), Ron Wise (Cheryl) and Jeff Wise (Diane); half-brother, Gary Benchoff (Pat) of Williamsport, MD; special friends and their families, Richard Freeman, Delores Sease, and her daughter, Sherry, the late Barb Stoops, Carol & Terry Snyder, Dennis Black, Kathy Cline, Ralph & Debbie Eyler, Ken and Teresa Steely, cousin Carol and Marty Schorn as well as other friends including cousins, classmates and retired co-workers.
In addition to her mother, father & step-father, she was preceded in death by brother-in-law Terrence “Chic” McKissick; nephew, William McKissick; and step-brother, Ronald (Judy) Wise.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 3, 2024 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Pastor Terry Hoke officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Cemetery, Thurmont, MD.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Thursday morning, in the funeral home.
