Mrs. Laura L. (Thompson) House, 60, of Greencastle, PA, passed away Friday, February 13, 2026, in Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown, MD.
Born May 10, 1965 in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of Mrs. Dorothy (Shaffer) Thompson of Tonawanda, NY and the late Samuel Thompson.
Laura graduated from Riverside High School. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Buffalo State College and later received an Associate’s Degree from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.
She and her husband of 36 years, Mr. Jay P. House, were married on December 16, 1989.
A homemaker, Laura also taught kindergarten at Grace Academy in Hagerstown from 1989 until 1994 and along with her husband served at trails end ranch Ekalaka MT, from 1997-2002, before raising her family.
She was a member of Evangel Baptist Church, Hagerstown and enjoyed cross stitching, quilting, scrap booking, gardening and also hunting.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by four children, Jeremiah House of Sacramento, CA, Rebecca Fromer of Woodbridge, VA, Josiah House of Omaha, NE and Anna House of Greencastle; two grandchildren, Jameson and Jalen House; siblings, Cheryl Thompson, Susan Thompson and Samuel Thompson, Jr.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 18, 2026 in Evangel Baptist Church, 17922 Broadfording Road, Hagerstown. Burial will be private in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Wednesday morning, in the church.
