Mr. Kenneth Ivison Raynor, 56, of Hagerstown, died early Saturday morning, May 8, 2021, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.
Born January 6, 1965, in Patchogue, Long Island, New York, he was a son of the late Gilbert Sidney and Marion Carter Becken Raynor.
He graduated from Eastport High School in 1983 and received an Associate’s degree in Accounting from Suffolk County Community College. He was attending the University of Buffalo when his father became ill and he left school to help with things at home.
Mr Raynor currently worked for The City of Hagerstown. Previous places of employment include Martin’s Grocery Store, Greenbrier State Park, and North Fork Bancorp.
He was a caretaker for his mother for many years.
He was also active with the community, serving on the governing board of Reach and frequently volunteered at their cold weather shelter, as a mentor with The Open Table, and served in the soup kitchen at the Presbyterian Church of Hagerstown.
Surviving is his daughter Jillian Raynor Bradshaw and husband Michael, Jr., of Sanford, North Carolina; by his grandchildren, Michael, III, Alekzandr, and Aurora; his siblings, Gilbert, Leroy and Paul Raynor, Sharon Petry, Jeffrey Raynor, Carol Pisano, and Debbie Kurz; as well as his first love and mother of Jillian, Jennifer Elkins Walker; best friend Carl Tomforde; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Rayor in November, 2020.
The Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown, is assisting the family with arrangements. There will not be visiting at the funeral home. A service to celebrate the life of Kenneth Raynor will be held Thursday evening, June 3, at 7:00 PM, at Maranatha Brethren Church, 19835 Scott Hill Drive, Hagerstown with Rev. Daniel E.
