Mr. Kenneth L. Marshall, 84, of Quincy Village, Waynesboro, PA went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.
Born December 17, 1939 in Harold, KY, he was the son of the late John Francis and Eda Belle (Allen) Marshall.
He was a graduate of Miami High School, Miami, FL with the Class of 1957. After a tour of duty with the United States Navy, he attended Edison Community College in Fort Myers, FL. Later he attended Forestry School and eventually worked with the Forestry Service in Washington State. In 1966 he graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a degree in Finance and secured a position with the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C. While living in D.C., he attended American University of Law, earning a Juris Doctor Degree. He began his legal career in Sarasota, FL with the Dart – Dickinson Law Firm, eventually becoming a sole practitioner.
He was a member of the Village Presbyterian Church in Charlotte Court House, VA, Joe Stickell American Legion Post #15, Waynesboro, PA and a retired member of the Florida Bar Association.
Ken was a man who never met a stranger. He will be remembered for his intellect, quick wit and delightful sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sharon (Dail) Marshall; a daughter, Kristin Marshall and her husband, Richard Reece of Washington State; two sons, John Preston Marshall of West Virginia and Christopher Joshua Marshall of Florida; a sister, Betty Rich of Florida; and a brother, Roger Pope (Sherry) of Georgia.
In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by a sister, Annette Pierce of South Carolina; and his beloved Uncle Buck and Aunt Grace Bocook of Florida.
The family wishes to thank his caregivers, Sherry and Rethea, for the wonderful care they provided. They would also like to thank the nurses and caregivers of SpiriTrust Lutheran Hospice for helping to keep Ken comfortable and allowing him to keep his dignity in tact to the end.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, July 12, 2024 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with The Reverend Ricky McCarl officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro where military graveside honors will be conducted by the honor guard of Charles Nitterhouse V.F.W. Post #1599, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Friday afternoon, in the funeral home.
