Kathleen Marie “Kate” Eberhardt, 21, of Greencastle, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, in Downingtown, PA, leaving behind a profound void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Born April 23, 2004, in Green Bay, WI, she was the deeply loved daughter of Jon and Sue (Wynne) Eberhardt of Greencastle.
Kate grew up in Greencastle, where her vibrant personality, sense of humor, and compassionate nature made her someone people were naturally drawn to. A 2022 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School, she went on to attend West Chester University, where she pursued a degree in nutrition and dietetics. She had a genuine desire to help others, always looking for ways to care for and support those around her.
While in high school, Kate played field hockey and proudly served as team captain, encouraging her teammates with both strength and kindness. She was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, where her faith was a quiet but steady presence in her life.
Kate found joy in both the big and small moments. She loved running, painting, and being outdoors, especially near the ocean. She had a deep love for animals and an even greater love for her family and friends. She was thoughtful, caring, and always put the needs of others before her own. Her siblings fondly considered her the funniest, a coveted title among them. Her iconic laughter was contagious and could brighten even the hardest days.
She cherished time with her nieces and nephews, who brought her endless happiness, and she shared a loving and devoted relationship with her boyfriend of eight years, Larson Thomas of Greencastle. Their relationship, which began before high school, was a constant and meaningful part of her life.
In addition to her parents, Kate is survived by her siblings: Noah Eberhardt (Katelyn) of Saylorsburg, PA; Jane Neferis (Nick) of Coraopolis, PA; Joe Eberhardt (Jordyn) of Camp Lejeune, NC; and Sam Eberhardt of Carmel, IN; along with her beloved nieces and nephews: Hanna, Brielle, Kylie, Cole, Damion, Ava, Bryar, and Eden; and grandparents: Hope Wynne, and Mike and RuthAnn Eberhardt.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, John Wynne.
Though her time here was far too short, Kate’s life was filled with love, connection, and meaning. She will be remembered for her kind heart, ability to bring laughter to others, and the deep love she carried for those closest to her. Her memory will continue to live on in the lives she touched and in the love she gave so freely.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle, PA.
