Kathleen M. “Kathi” Chesnut, 57, of Mercersburg, PA passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024 in the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA. Born June 7, 1967 in York, PA she was the daughter of the Daniella M. (Knisley) and the late Charles T. Russell, Sr.
She was a graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School with the Class of 1985. Kathi then went on to serve with the United States Navy from February 7, 1986 until her honorable discharge February 15, 1991. While in the Navy she served on the presidents honor guard. Kathi was most recently employed as a construction administrator with Newcomer Associates. She had been with the company for the last 20 years.
Kathi was a member of the American Legion Post 517, Mercersburg, PA. She enjoyed attending NASCAR Races and went every year to Bristol, TN and camping with her husband. Kathi was an avid reader.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Thomas E. Chesnut; two children, Brooks Miller (Jenna) and Samantha Gray (Matthew); three siblings, Rocky Russell (Christine), Kris Conner (Darrel), and John Russell (Christel); five sisters-in-law, Karen Carbaugh, Debra Pine (Ronald), Barbara Sites (Joel), Carol Fickes, and Brenda Heckman (Mark); and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her dad who raised her, Harold E. Bristol; and her in-laws, Wayne and Billy (Lininger) Chesnut.
Services are private at the convenience of the family at this time. Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg.
