Joy Lucille Kauffman, 75, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by family May 9, 2026, at the Chambersburg Hospital. She was born May 13, 1950, in Frederick, MD, the daughter of the late Juanita and William Netz.
She worked at various service jobs throughout the years, including Reeders Nursing Home, Jim’s Always, and Richardson’s Restaurant.
Joy simply cherished family time. Holidays and backyard cookouts were her favorite. She also enjoyed going to the mountains, talking on the phone, watching church services on the television, listening to gospels, and bragging about her family any chance she got. She was known as a social butterfly and could spark up a conversation with everyone she met.
Joy is survived by two children; daughter, Lisa A Kauffman, her partner John Winkler of Fayetteville, and son, Richard E Kauffman III of Hanover; twin sister; Delight Reed, her husband Charles Reed of WV; two grandchildren; Tyler Kauffman, and Kayla Kauffman, her partner Brent Wells; and three great-grandson’s; DaShaun, Malik, and Kasen.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her late husband, Richard E Kauffman Sr; infant son, Richard E Kauffman Jr; eight brothers and sisters, Leon, Darvin, Jerry, Wayne, Wanda Lou, Arbutus, Gardenia, and Freda.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at Sellers Funeral Home. There will be a time of visitation one hour prior to the service.
