Joseph Paternost, 94, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Friday August 1, 2025, at his home.
He was born on March 17, 1931, in Slovenia to the late Ivan and Marija (Praznik) Paternost.
Joseph was a Language Professor at the Pennsylvania State University until his retirement. He was a member of the Chambersburg Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
He is survived by his wife, Erike Paternost of Chambersburg, PA, whom he married on August 27, 1960; and several nieces and nephews who were his sister, Ann’s children.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Ann Tushar.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
