Joseph J. Piechocki, 47, of Waynesboro, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024.

Born December 5, 1976 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of Joseph Piechocki and Denise (Nadeau) Piechocki of Westminster, MD.

He was a graduate of Dundalk High School and later received his journeyman’s HVAC license from Air Conditioning Contractor’s Association of American.

Joe was an integral part of Mallick Mechanical Contractors, driving the company’s culture, innovation and fostering a collaborative environment.

His passion for his craft was unmatched. He dedicated countless hours to perfecting his skills, always striving for excellence and encouraging those around him to do the same. His unwavering commitment to his work inspired countless colleagues to approach each task with precision and pride.

Joe’s journey with Mallick Mechanical began as a job site foreman, where his leadership and dedication quickly became apparent. Over nine years, he earned the respect of his peers, leading with integrity and care. In 2017, Joe’s exceptional talent and hard work were recognized with a promotion to project manager, where he oversaw multimillion-dollar projects, including Tyson’s Tower, 2050 M St., Avocet Tower, AU Central Plant, and Reston Row.

His remarkable achievements as a project manager were followed by an even greater role as Director of Project Management in 2021. Joe’s impact went beyond his professional accomplishments; he was a mentor and teacher, sharing his extensive knowledge of HVAC and plumbing with those eager to learn. His belief in giving others opportunities and his constant support of his colleagues made him a beloved figure within the organization.

Joe’s 15-year tenure at Mallick Mechanical Contractors was marked not only by professional success but also by his kindness, wisdom, and genuine friendship. His presence was a source of joy and inspiration, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of working with him.

Mallick Mechanical Contractors and all who knew Joe will forever cherish his memory and the profound legacy he leaves behind.

A devoted father, Joe dedicated much of his free time to his children’s activities, whether watching from the sidelines or helping in any way he could. He even volunteered as a coach for WAGS Softball for a number of years. Some of his most treasured times were spent camping with his family.

In addition to his parents, he leaves behind his wife, Denise M. (Fischer) Piechocki; six children, Makayla Marie Davis and her husband, Lyrik of Lynchburg, VA and Nicholas John Piechocki, Addison Rose Piechocki, Alaina Mae Piechocki, Annaliese Joy Piechocki and Evan Joseph Piechocki, all at home; sister, Jennifer Ford (Justin) of Ellicott City, MD; brother, Michael Piechocki of Pennsylvania; nieces and nephew, Kathryn Anne Ford, Owen James Ford, Charlotte Marie Ford and Emma Alexandra Ford; and a host of extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 28, 2024 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 South Broad St., Waynesboro where a memorial service will be held at 6:00 P.M. with the Rev. Timothy Clothier officiating. 

Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
