Joseph J. “Joe” Comfort, 76, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Friday, February 28, 2025 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born June 11, 1948 in Connellsville, PA he was the son of the late Joseph J. Comfort, Jr. and Evelyn (Melone) Comfort.
He was a graduate of Connellsville High School with the Class of 1966. He then went on to obtain his bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University in mathematics and later his master’s degree from University of Pittsburgh also in mathematics. Joe was employed as a software manager in satellite imagery for General Electric.
He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Chambersburg. Joe enjoyed gardening and computers.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Jane A. (Corser) Comfort who he married June 6, 1992.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 13, 2025 in Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave, Chambersburg, PA 17201 with Fr. Allan Wolfe officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church Narthex Thursday morning. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
