Joseph” Stephen” Argenbright, 82, passed away on December 31, 2023, at the Leland of Laurel Run in Waynesboro, PA after complications from Alzheimer’s/Dementia Disease. He was the youngest son to the late Arthur and Alice(Hay) Argenbright on November 16, 1941, in Chambersburg, PA.

Steve attended Chambersburg Area High School. Following his high school years, he enlisted in the United States Navy and faithfully served his country from 1962-1964. His duty stations included Helicopter Antisubmarine Squadron Eleven and service aboard the U.S.S. Wasp.

While serving in the military, Steve married the love of his life, Audrey” Darlene Keebaugh”, on July 27, 1963, at the Church of God in Newville, PA. During their 60 year marriage, Steve and Darlene had three children; Chrystal, Tammy, and Lisa. Together they instilled Christian values and attended Chambersburg Bible Church.

Honorably discharged from the military, Steve pursued a civilian vocation with SKF in Shippensburg, PA, and later joined Mack Truck, Inc. in Hagerstown Md. Faced with plant closure, Steve decided to go to Alaska to pan for gold. The family, in awe, lovingly joked that while he did not find his fortune in gold, he found himself a new calling. He went for training and specialized in air conditioning and refrigeration. Entrepreneurship propelled him to start his own business servicing equipment at commercial businesses in the local area. Eventually, Mack Trucks, Inc. reopened its doors and he returned to proudly complete his 37 year career and retired on October 1, 2004.

Steve was proceeded by his parents Arthur and Alice and siblings Richard, Margaret, Roy, Dorothy, Carl and Patricia.

He is survived by his wife Darlene, and three daughters; Chrystal (Richard) Pitts, Tammy Argenbright and Lisa Argenbright. Also what brought him so much joy was his grandchildren. Whitney Argenbright, Arielle Argenbright and partner La Tasha Gochenaur, Loeghen Pitts and Noah Pitts. He spent a great deal of time laughing at the antics of the great grandchildren; Shuel Beltre, Luna Beltre, Lluvia Beltre, Jocelina Teegarden Amor Gochenaur and the newest twin arrivals Minkah Gochenauer and Miliani Gochenauer.
