Mrs. Jean Martin Baughman, 99, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2025, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Born March 13, 1926 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Emerson E. and Blanche (Sleighter) Martin.

She was a graduate of Chambersburg High School with the Class of 1944. Jean was employed at Letterkenny Army Depot before becoming a homemaker and stay-at-home mom. She was a volunteer with the Chambersburg Hospital Auxiliary when her children were young. Jean was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Martha Custis Chapter No. 324 Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed walking, biking, golfing, and spending time with family and friends. She and her late husband Dan would spend their winters in their home in Florida and often hosted friends and family during the winter months. Like her late husband, Jean loved and devoted much of her life to her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Daniel S. Baughman and wife Cindy of Little River, SC; her daughter, Deborah B. Hartman and husband Ronnie of Chambersburg; and two grandchildren, Brett Baughman (Tawnya Hammond) of Chambersburg and Mindy Hartman of Chambersburg; a great-grandchild, Paisley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandsons, Cody Baughman in 1996 and Aaron (A.J.) Hartman in 2001; as well as two siblings, Leroy Martin and Lois Reisher.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 26, 2025, in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA, with Pastor Ruth Smith officiating. Entombment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Wednesday evening, as well as one hour prior to the service Thursday morning in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Shriners Children’s Philadelphia Office of Philanthropy, 3551 N. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19140 or online at www.shrinerschildrens.org.
