What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us. – Helen Keller Janice Kay Criss-Schmidt, 68, most recently of Fannettsburg, Pennsylvania, was granted formal angel wings in her passing on April 15, 2024. Janice was an extraordinary woman. To her husband, she was loyal, loving and supportive. To her girls, she was truly a best friend and the most amazing mother. To her grandchildren, she brought immense joy and offered them so much of her heart. She was a vision of strength, fiercely independent, persistent, gracious, and generous. Known for always putting the needs of others before her own, she delighted in welcoming and providing for those she cared for in whichever way she could, especially through her talents in the kitchen. Her radiant personality was mirrored in her vibrant flower gardens, which she tended with so much excitement and admiration for the beauty in nature’s simple treasures. She will be greatly missed by her husband, Jeffrey; daughters, Jennifer and Amanda; grandchildren, Grayson, Avery, and Jonah, as well as numerous relatives and friends whose lives were blessed in having been touched by someone so special. Janice Kay Criss-Schmidt’s legacy is one of unwavering love. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother (Mimi, Gammie), sister, aunt and friend. Moments and memories shared with her will forever be cherished. A celebration of her life is being planned and will be held at a later date.
