James P. “Jim” Kortisses, 71, of South Mountain, PA passed away Monday, October 16, 2023 in his home surrounded by his family. Born November 27, 1951 in Baltimore County, MD he was the son of the late Paul J. and Kathryn I. (Smith) Kortisses.

He was employed as a computer specialist for Gettysburg College and Mount St. Mary’s University. Jim was a member of a Model A Club. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his beloved dog, Sam.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Carolanne (Horvath) Kortisses; three children, Leah Ryder (Clinton) of Amberson, PA, Dustin Kortisses (Tara) of Abbottstown, PA, and Lacey Crumbling of East Berlin, PA; a step-son, Chad Spoonhour (Tabitha) of Waynesboro, PA; ten grandchildren, Lucian and Olivia Creamer, Jullein and Emma Ozminski, Alana and Angelia Crumbling, Jace Spoonhour (Kaleb), Piper Bowers, Jordan Webber (Keagan) and Jordyn Calnan (Riley); one great-granddaughter, Levi Calnan; sister, Lori Wyatt; brother, Paul Kortisses (Mary); and a brother-in-law Gerald Horvath.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Thomas J. Kortisses; a sister Anna L. Blaise; and step-daughter, Kelly L. Spoonhour.

Services will be private at the convenience of they family. Services are entrusted to SimpleChoice Cremation Services of Chambersburg.
