Mrs. Irene Elizabeth Wentz, 91, of Williamsport, died Thursday, October 25, 2012, at Williamsport Retirement Village.  She was the wife of Mr. Wayne L. Wentz, her husband of 69 years.

Born July 16, 1921, in Hagerstown, she was a daughter of the late Charles Frederick and Lillie Mae Fish Lum.

Irene was employed with the White Coffee Pot, Hagerstown, retiring in 1985.

She was a member of Haven Lutheran Church, Hagerstown.

Irene was a sweet loving woman with a beautiful smile; and upon being asked how she was, would always answer “Fine.”

Surviving are her children Margaret I. Nyce, of Aztec, New Mexico, and Terry W. Wentz and wife Gloria of Cumberland; her grandchildren, Michael R. Nyce, Krista N. Anderson, Timothy A. Nyce, Kerry Shand, Jon M. Nyce, and Tammy Massey; as well as seventeen great and two great, great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by daughters Darlene E. and Kathy L. Wentz; and siblings Clara M. Bonney, Vivian V. Grove, Ethel M. Lum, Mary M. Reese, Dorris J. Massey, Levena M. Henson, Betty L. Jones, Phyllis E. Clark, Charles F. Lum, Jr., Peggy A. Green, and William K. and Samuel E. Lum.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 29, at 11:00 AM, at her church, Haven Lutheran Church, 1035 Haven Road, Hagerstown, with her pastor, Rev. Linda M. Alessandri officiating.  Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.  The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday.
