Mr. Howard Wayne Bartholow, 76, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024 at the Leland of Laurel Run.
He is survived by his son, Jason D. Bartholow and his wife, Kristia of Waynesboro; granddaughter, Madison Bartholow of Waynesboro; nephew, Charles Best (Wendy) of Pensacola, FL; and his girlfriend, Kim Diffenderfer.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father, H. Paul Bartholow; mother Hilda Irene Hess; and sister, Sue Emma Best.
Howard Wayne Bartholow was born June 27, 1947 in Waynesboro. He was a graduate of Waynesboro Senior High School with the Class of 1965. He then attended Shippensburg College where he received his Bachelor’s Degree and was a member of the Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity.
Following graduation, Wayne married his former wife, Judith Ann Stinson and began his banking career that spanned many years. He was involved in all aspects of the Waynesboro community, Wayne Band, Borough of Waynesboro Recreation Board, Community Concert, Antietam Historical Society and many others. His interests included collecting Waynesboro, PA historical items, a love for Gettysburg and Civil War history and the Wayne Band for over 50 years, just to name a few.
A Celebration of Wayne’s Life will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, July 1, 2024 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., Monday morning in the funeral home.
