Gerald Ray “Sam” Blizzard, Jr. age 62, of Chambersburg, PA passed away unexpectedly in the Chambersburg Hospital on Sunday, September 15, 2024. Born in Chambersburg on July 29, 1962, he was the son of the late Gerald Ray and Nancy Sprow Blizzard, Sr.
Sam was a member of Freedom in Christ Church and the American Legion Post 46, both in Chambersburg, PA. He retired an arborist after 31 years, and most recently worked for Chamberlin-Wingert Sanitation for the last 8 years. He enjoyed boating on the river, climbing trees and caring for family.
Sam is survived by his beloved wife, Michele K. Neil Blizzard, whom he married on July 29, 1992; three children, Andrew G. Blizzard (wife Jenny) of Chambersburg, PA, Tiffany Pittman (husband Adam) of Chambersburg, PA, and Samantha M. Leidig (husband Todd) of St. Thomas, PA; four cherished grandchildren, Brooklynn and Raylnn Leidig and Taya and Aylah Pittman; and a sister Regina Fahnestock. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Trudy Lininger and a brother, “Lee” Jake Sprow.
Funeral services will be private at Freedom in Christ Church, Chambersburg, PA
