With sadness, his family would like to share that Gerald L. Maust, 66, passed away on April 17, 2025, at his residence in Chambersburg.
Born December 8, 1958, he was the son of the late William A. Maust and Audrey L. (Chronister) Maust.
Gerald was preceded in death by his older brother, William Alfred Jr., and his father, William A. Maust.
Gerald leaves behind his three children: Roxanne (John) Waterhouse of Delaware, Ohio, Susanne Sandino of Greencastle, and Jesse Maust of New Oxford. His children gave him six grandchildren.
Gerald, affectionally called “Jerry” by his family and friends, was the second born to his parents. His surviving siblings are as follows: Mona Lisa (Ed) Johnson of Hanover, Charles William (Sharon) Maust of York Springs, James Eugene of Biglerville, and Joseph Allen (Rhonda) of Gardners.
Jerry enjoyed building things, including trinkets and cool toys. An accomplished welder, he used his skills both in the workplace and at home. His workshop always evidenced a new project he had started. Whenever he had the opportunity, he really enjoyed taking his Harley for a ride. He was an animal lover. His dog, Titan, was very special to him. Jerry enjoyed hunting, eating a good steak, and drinking his coffee as strong as possible. In his younger years, he was a busy man, but never too busy to lend a helping hand.
Jerry showed his children the value of hard work, staying busy in the family garden each summer, and chopping firewood to keep them warm during the winter months.
Jerry will be thought of often by his family and friends, and will be missed by those who love him.
