Gerald J. “Jerry” Horvath, 83, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2024 in Chambersburg Skilled Nursing Home. Born July 15, 1941 in New York he was the son of the late John and Patricia (Santucci) Horvath.

After Jerry graduated high school he enlisted in the United States Army. He devoted his life to serving his country with three retirements within the military throughout his career. He had a passion for coach children’s sports. Jerry also enjoyed bowling, playing the piano, and watching Christmas movies. He also had a great love for his fur buddy, Angel often referring to her as his little nurse.

Jerry is survived by his sister; Carol Kortisses of South Mountain, PA; two nephews, Chad Spoonhour of Waynesboro, and Jace Spoonhour (Kaleb) of South Mountain; great-nephew Jordan Webber of Oklahoma; and a great niece, Piper Bowers.

In addition to his parents Jerry is preceded in death by his brother Robert Horvath and his niece Kelly Spoonhour.
