Mr. George L. Rouzer, 100, formerly of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025 in Brookview Healthcare Center, Chambersburg, PA.
Born August 28, 1925, near Knobsville, PA, he was the son of the late Charles E. “Ted” Rouzer and Velma E. (Glunt) Rouzer.
Mr. Rouzer was a graduate of Hustontown, High School with the Class of 1944 and entered the U.S. Navy Reserve officer training V-6 aviation program.
He and his wife, the late Mrs. Esther J. (Stevens) Rouzer, were married June 1, 1946. They were together for over 70 years when she passed away March 18, 2017.
His work career was primarily in engineering liaison, quality assurance and publications at Fairchild Manufacturing, Hagerstown and Grove Manufacturing (now Manitowoc), Shady Grove.
Mr. Rouzer is survived by his son, Kerry N. Rouzer and his wife, Barbara J., of Mont Alto, PA; two grandchildren: Penny Waters and her husband, John and Shane Rouzer and his wife, Margie; three great-grandchildren: Sarah, Joshua and Skyler; his siblings: S. Phyllis Brant, and her husband, H. Clyde and G. Sherlyn Rouzer and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Esther (Stevens) Rouzer, he was preceded in death by his sister, Louise Bangma and his brother Vernon Rouzer.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. He will be laid to rest beside his wife in Browns Mill Cemetery, near Greencastle.
