Ms. Faye E. (Bakner) Quackenbos, 82, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Saturday morning, October 5, 2024, in her home.
Born March 22, 1942 in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Mary (Haugh) Bakner.
She graduated from Quincy High School with the Class of 1958.
In her early life, Faye worked at Sylvania Shoe Company as a bar tacker. She later worked for Coffman Nursing Home, Hagerstown, MD as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She retired after more than 20 years of service at the nursing home.
She was a member of Mountain Top Ministries, Orrtanna, PA and enjoyed playing bingo, going to thrift stores with her sisters and spending time with her dog, Buttons.
She is survived by three children, Pam Snabley (John) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Wanda Richmond (Sheldon) of Chambersburg, PA and William Bakner (Norma) of Waynesboro, PA; 5 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Fran Wagaman of Waynesboro, Mary Sucik (John) of Greencastle, PA, Ray “Gene” Bakner of Fort Loudon, PA, Cindy Kendall (Mel) of Waynesboro and Eunice “Niece” Stultz of East Berlin, PA; her close friend, Susan Turner of Mercersburg, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Natisha Wolford; and one sister, Lois Rock.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 12, 2024 in Mountain Top Ministries, 200 Church Road, Orrtanna, PA with Pastors Ken Reid and Ron Parr officiating. Burial will be private.
