Ms. Evalyn L. (Wagonhouser) Ferguson, 96, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Friday afternoon, February 27, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Born March 16, 1929, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Aldus W. and Edna M. (Miller) Wagonhouser.
Mrs. Ferguson was employed as a housekeeper for 40 years at The Presbyterian Church of Waynesboro. She didn’t retire until she was nearly 80 years old.
She raised 7 kids and that in itself was what consumed most of her time. She also, when she found the time, enjoyed watching NASCAR – especially when it was Ken Schrader!
She is survived by her seven children: Barbara Rhone (Curvin) of Waynesboro, Preston Ferguson of Waynesboro, Rosemary Lentz (Dale) of Greencastle, PA, George Ferguson of Blue Ridge Summit, PA, Tina Kauffman of Greencastle, Larry Ferguson of Waynesboro, and Garry Ferguson (Jessica) of Waynesboro; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Aldus W. Wagonhouser, Jr.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 4, 2026 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, PA with Pastor Greg Helman officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Wednesday morning, in the funeral home.
