Estella May Kadel, aged 94, died at Brookview Healthcare Center on May 12, 2026. She was born September 14, 1931, the daughter of the late Charles and Virginia Potts of Waynesboro, PA.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Chambersburg. Estella worked as a nurse at Menno Haven for 20 years, retiring in 1993. Her interests were making crafts, jigsaw puzzles, and working outdoors.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Lauffer; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Kadel; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one brother; and one sister.
Estella is preceded in death by her husband, Howard William Kadel Sr., Saint Thomas, who she married on December 8, 1949; son, Howard William Kadel, Jr., who passed away September 6, 2012; son-in-law, Stephen Lauffer, and three brothers.
Burial will be private.
