Mrs. Estella (Brown) Hager, 94, of Waynesboro, passed away Monday, August 17, 2026 in Quincy Home.
Born October 12, 1931 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Emmert F. and Iceline (Cressler) Brown.
She was a graduate of Washington Township High School with the Class of 1949. While attending school, Estella participated in school plays and was selected as the “Biggest Flirt” in her graduating class. In later years, she enjoyed attending her class reunion luncheons.
Estella retired from an active Civil Service Career, holding positions at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, PA; Fort Ritchie, MD; Veterans Administration Hospital, Brooklyn, NY; USAG in Seoul, Korea; Fort Meade, MD and returning to Letterkenny Army Depot prior to her retirement.
She is survived by her daughter, Denise Heck of Waynesboro.
Estella was the last of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard D. “Ike” Hager, Sr. who passed away March 27, 2005; and her sisters, Lista Snurr and Zaza Mitchell.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 25, 2026 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with the Rev. Virgil Cain officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.
