Chambersburg, PA – Erma M. Norcross, 89, a devoted mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Menno Haven Village Square Personal Care in Chambersburg. She was born on January 14, 1937, in Mowersville, PA, to the late Charles E. and Janet (Booz) Snoke.

Erma graduated from Harrisburg Poly Clinic Nursing School in 1957 as a Registered Nurse. She dedicated nearly 40 years to providing exceptional professional and personal nursing care, with the last 35 years spent at Chambersburg Hospital until her retirement in 1997. Even after retiring, Erma continued to offer loving care and support to her family and friends, and cherished her time traveling.

A faithful member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Chambersburg for over 60 years, Erma was actively involved with the United Women in Faith, volunteering her time to support the church's missions. Her commitment to community service extended to Meals on Wheels, where she delivered meals in Chambersburg for over a decade. Beyond her volunteer work, Erma enjoyed gardening, jigsaw puzzles, and reading.

She is survived by her children, Ralph L. Norcross, III and his wife Bobbi of Chambersburg, PA; Kathleen M. Kent of Midland City, AL; and Edward S. Norcross of Chambersburg, PA. Erma is also survived by her grandchildren, Eric Norcross of Chambersburg, PA; Ian Kent of Headland, AL; Sean Kent of Gilbertown, AL; and Mary Kate Norcross of White Plains, NY; as well as two great-grandchildren. She leaves behind her brother, Roy Snoke and his wife Andrea of Shippensburg, PA.

Erma was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph L. Norcross, Jr., who passed away on July 25, 1989; her sister, Faye Swartz; and her brother, Fred Snoke.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Paul United Methodist Church 750 Norland Avenue Chambersburg, PA 17201. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: St Paul United Methodist Church 750 Norland Avenue Chambersburg Pa 17201 to the United Woman in Faith or general fund to continue the missions of the church.
