Eleanor Jane Brindle, 89, of Chambersburg, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born December 27, 1934, in Waynesboro, PA, she was a daughter of the late Laban Harold and Eleanor Kathryn Brewbaker Stoner.
Eleanor was a1952 graduate of CASHS. She was employed most of her working years as a salesclerk with Worth’s Dress Shop and Culp’s Office Supply until her retirement. Eleanor and her husband were members of Solomon’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed going to Charlestown Casino and playing bingo.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, William Alfred Brindle, whom she married on December 26, 1953; two children, Randy Brindle and wife Jimmye of Oldsmar, FL, and Susan Ferris of Frederick, MD; four grandchildren, Randye Lee Brindle of Oldsmar, FL, Jessye LaCamera and husband David of TX, Neddy Ferris and wife Victoria of North East, MD, and Holly Ferris of Frederick, MD. Aside from her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by five sisters, Doris Drawbaugh, Celia Lawson, Anna Keefer, Esther Schwebel, and Nelle Mummert.
