Mr. Edward Elwood Meldron, 78, of Hagerstown, died late Monday afternoon, April 9, 2018, at Doey’s House, Hagerstown.  He was the husband of Mrs. Linda Darlene Moser Meldron, and died just days prior to celebrating their 51st anniversary.

Born June 11, 1939, in Gaithersburg, he was a son of the late Raymond and Bessie Mae Grove Meldron.  He had served with the United States Army Reserves.

Mr. Meldron had served in the maintenance departments of the Washington County Library and Boat America Corporation; and was a security guard for First Data and Maryland District Court, all of Hagerstown.

He was a member of West End Baptist Chapel, Hagerstown.  Additionally he was a member of Morris Frock Post 42, American Legion, also of Hagerstown.

Surviving, besides his wife, are his children, Daniel L. Meldron, and Vicki M Horst and husband A.J., all of Hagerstown; and his grandchildren, Connor J. Meldron, Austin Miller and Trey Horst.

Besides his parents, Mr. Meldron was preceded in death by his brother, James W. Meldron.

The family will receive friends at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 East Antietam Street, Hagerstown, on Friday, April 13, from 10:00 AM until this service begins at 11:00 AM.  His pastor, Rev. S. Shane Wilt, will officiate.  Entombment will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Meldron’s name to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland  21742.
