Mr. Edward L. “Ed” Outman, 83, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Saturday morning, March 14, 2026, in Laurel Lakes Rehabilitation and Wellness Center, Chambersburg, PA.
Born February 7, 1943, in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Richard Lawrence Outman and Iva Dell (Finch) Kauffman.
He and his wife of over 41 years, Karen “Pat” (Cole) Outman, were married on January 25, 1985.
Mr. Outman held various jobs throughout his life. In his younger years, he worked at Skateland, as a floor manager, and later worked at McDonald’s, where he performed maintenance. He then went on to be a welder for D.L George and Sons, Waynesboro, PA and Grove Manufacturing, Shady Grove, PA. He retired in 2008.
He was an avid fan of the Washington Capitals, Washington Redskins and Hershey Bears. He also enjoyed playing computer games, watching TV, and tinkering in his shed.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Darlene Brown and her husband Ralph, Cindy Barnes, Barbara Patterson, Tracy Patterson and her husband Terry, and Chris Seilhamer; his grandchildren, Tim Bakner and his wife Amanda, Matt Patterson, Jess Edwards and her husband Jay, Jenn Imes and her husband Andrew, Scott Patterson, Kayla Schwab and her husband Tim, Dylan Wright and his wife Shelby, David Wright and girlfriend Jess Hoffman; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and four sons-in-law.
Graveside services will be held 1:30 P.M., Wednesday, March 18, 2026, in Mount Zion Cemetery, near Quincy, with Rev. Gayle Ruble officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
