Mr. Earl E. Truax, 77, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Thursday, September 4, 2025, in his home.
Born November 5, 1947 in McConnellsburg, PA, he was the son of the late Earl B. and Betty Louise (Gantz) Truax.
He was a graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School class of 1967.
Earl served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was awarded several medals for his service in Vietnam, including The Bronze Star, Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm and the Valorous Unit Award.
He and his wife of over 38 years, Sally Ann (Ritchey) Truax, were married on February 14, 1987, in Quincy, PA.
Earl worked at Keystone Homes, Waynesboro, for over 15 years and was most recently employed as a cook at The Butcher Shoppe, Chambersburg. He retired in May 2024.
He was a member of Joe Stickell American Legion Post #15, Waynesboro and Calvary Baptist Church, Chambersburg.
Earl had a great sense of humor and enjoyed woodworking, home improvement projects, cooking and working as a mechanic.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Brian Truax and his wife, Erica of Waynesboro, Tammy Romito and her husband, Michael of Mechanicsburg, PA, Angie Rhines and her husband, Donald of Waynesboro and Sabrina Gantz of Waynesboro; four grandchildren, Natalie, Cassandra, Andrew and Jarrett; and four great-grandchildren, Parker, Ashton, Helicity and Elizabeth.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Truax and one nephew, P.J. Truax.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
