Mrs. Dorothy L. “Dot” “Vickie” Hose, 91, of Greencastle, PA, went to be with the Lord, she loved on Saturday, May 25, 2024, in Doey’s House, Hagerstown, MD.

Born October 8, 1932, in Mercersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Grover Myers Sr. and Hazel (Hawbaker) Myers.

She graduated from Mercersburg High School with the class of 1950.

She and her husband, the late Fred Z. Hose, were married on December 26, 1951, in the parsonage at the Broadfording Church of the Brethren, Hagerstown, MD, by Rev. David Petre. They enjoyed 46 years of marriage together when Fred passed away in December 1997.

Dot spent her life as a homemaker. She was a member of New Testament Church of Hagerstown, where she loved to fellowship with her church family. She enjoyed cooking, especially fried chicken. She loved to sew and made many of her clothes by hand. She put her green thumb to use by doing a lot of gardening. She kept an immaculate home. Her love for her family was only surpassed by her love for the Lord. Each moment spent with her grandsons and great-grandsons were a delight.

She is survived by her daughter, Josephine “Jo” Clark and her husband David of Greencastle; two grandsons; Aaron Matthew and his wife Julie of Greencastle, and Jereme Clark and his wife Krissy of Fairplay, MD; and 5 great-grandsons; Gage, Linkin, Parker, Jackson, and Elliott.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one infant son at birth; a grandson, David “Doc” Clark, Jr. and her siblings: Enos “Bunk” Myers, Grover “Pet” Myers, Julia Steele, and Marie Hock.

Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday May 31, 2024, in Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle, with Pastor Aaron Clark officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Thursday evening, in the funeral home.
