Mrs. Doris Jacqueliene “Jackie” (Tarman) Ridge, 95, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Friday, November 22, 2024 in Brookview Healthcare Center, Chambersburg, PA.
Born September 15, 1929 in the Fairview area of Quincy Township, Franklin County, PA, she was the daughter of the late John Tarman and Ella Marie (Monn) Tarman.
Mrs. Ridge attended Quincy Schools.
She and her husband, the late Mr. Howard Clyde Ridge, were married April 19, 1947. They were together for 48 years when he passed away October 6, 1995.
In her early life, Mrs. Ridge was employed at Waynesboro Knitting Mill for several years, later Freeman Shoe Factory and Tastee Freeze in Rouzerville. Prior to her retirement, she worked at IMWRF, Fort Ritchie, MD Bowling and Golf Center.
She was a member of Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, Ladies 10-Pin Bowling League, South Chapter AARP #2977 and National AARP.
Mrs. Ridge is survived by three sons, James H. Ridge and his wife, Deborah L. of St. Thomas, PA, John D. Ridge and his wife, Deborah J. of Greencastle, PA and Jerry L. Ridge and his wife, Karen of Waynesboro; five grandchildren, Jeremy Ridge, Chad Ridge, Michael Ridge, Aynjala Ash and Amy Shockey; two step-grandchildren, Gary Johnson and Tammy Christensen; several great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sister, Bernice Biddinger; and grandson, Jason Ridge
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, November 29, 2024 in Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, 117 S. Church St., Waynesboro with Pastor Andrew Paterno officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
