Mrs. Doris Helena Moats Itnyre, 92, a resident of Coffman Nursing Home, and formerly of Lorraine Terrace, both of Hagerstown, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 24, 2015, at the nursing home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Wade Edward Itnyre, who preceded her in death in 1978.
Born May 5, 1923, in Security, she was a daughter of the late Lewis William and Bessie Leota Boyer Moats. She lived in Washington County her entire life.
Doris retired from E. J. Fennel Co.; and the former L’Aiglon Dress Manufacturer with over 40 years of combined service. In retirement, she took great pleasure in her many craft projects, especially candy making at Christmas and Easter.
She currently attended Paramount Baptist Church, Hagerstown. She was a 55 year member of the former Grace Brethren Church, also of Hagerstown, where, for many years, Doris served as Secretary of Friendly Bible Class, and had volunteered in the church office and with SMM.
Doris was also an active member of the Leitersburg Grange, 361. She had held numerous offices over the years. She also took great pleasure participating with their yearly Community Show and Peach Festival events.
Surviving are two children, Cheryl D. Kelley Rhodes of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, and Gregory L. Kelley and wife Frances of Hagerstown; three grandchildren, Brian Kelley and wife Krista, Jeff Myers and wife Hazel, and Debbie Barrett and husband Curtis; five great grandchildren, McKenzie and Ian Kelley, Shana Smith, Heather Palmer, and Jennifer Storer; great, great grandchildren, Haley Palmer, Damion Storer, and Caleb Smith; as well as her sister, Vivian L. Moats of Williamsport; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by siblings Margaret M. Paulsgrove, and Martha V., Richard E. and Leonard Moats.

The family will receive friends at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 East Antietam Street, Hagerstown, on Wednesday, May 27 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, May 28 at her church, Paramount Baptist Church, Hagerstown, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. A Celebration of Doris’s Life will being at the church on Thursday at 11:00 AM, with the Revs. Alan N Clingan and Chuck Schroer, and Chaplain Dean P. Pryor officiating. Interment will be private in Mountain View Cemetery, Sharpsburg.
