Mr. Donald E. Ream, Sr., 92, of Greencastle, PA, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2026 in Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown, MD.
Born February 22, 1934 in Johnstown, PA, he was the son of the late William Ross and Laura (Gochenour) Ream.
He and his wife, the late Mrs. Dora Catherine (Black) Ream, were married in 1953 in Johnstown. They relocated to the Greencastle area in 1989 and had shared 60 years together when she passed away April 30, 2013.
Mr. Ream dedicated 32 years to the steel mills of Johnstown. After moving to Greencastle, he worked at a local machine shop for a number of years and then Sunnyway Foods in Chambersburg, PA. Prior to his retirement in 2007, he was a night security guard at Homewood of Williamsport.
He is survived by five children: Debra Hershey and her husband, David of Greencastle, Kathy Richey and her husband, Cliff of Bolivia, NC, Tammy Barkley and her husband, David of Graham, WA, Donald E. Ream, Jr. and his wife, Suzanne of Shippensburg, PA and Nancy Utsick and her husband, Kerry of Enola, PA; twelve grandchildren; multiple great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews as well as a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers.
Memorial services will be private at the convenience of the family.
