Mr. Donald Edward Campbell, 77, of Hagerstown passed away late Saturday afternoon, August 10, 2024, surrounded by family at his residence. He was the husband of Mrs. Patricia Jane Stotelmyer Campbell, his wife of 46 years.

Born July 3, 1947, in Hagerstown, he was the only child of the late Perry Ashby and Mildred Duke Thomas Campbell. He graduated from South Hagerstown High School in 1965.

Don was a proud Veteran who served in the United States Army Reserve during the Vietnam War.

His job interests varied. Don began a career in law enforcement, first serving for eight years as a policeman with Hagerstown City Police Department; then seventeen years as a correctional officer with Maryland Correctional Training Center, also of Hagerstown. Concurrently, he was a disc jockey for WYII radio of Williamsport for 24 years, and then ended his working years serving 22 years as the friendly delivery man for Charles A. Gibney Florist, of Hagerstown.

Don was a Protestant by faith.

He was a lifetime member of Antietam Volunteer Fire Company No. 2, Hagerstown, as well as Fraternal Order of Police, Thomas Pangborn Lodge No. 88, also of Hagerstown.

Don was a huge Baltimore Orioles fan and had fond memories of the Baltimore Colts. He also enjoyed Rock & Roll of the 1950’s, 60’s, and 70’s.

Surviving, besides his wife, are his children, Jason T. Campbell of Hagerstown, and Amy M. Campbell and her life partner Bradley DuVall, both of Rockville.

The family will receive friends at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 East Antietam Street, Hagerstown, on Thursday, August 15, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Friday, August 16 at 10:00 AM. Officiating will be Rev. Mark T. Reno, assisted by Rev. Suzanne G. Jones. Interment with honors will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.
