Debra E. Everts, age 72, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Meritus Hospital. Born December 2, 1953, in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Nevin and Louella Carey Murray.
Mrs. Everts earned an associate’s degree from HCC in 1999. She worked as a customer service representative for OXO Containers. She was a member of the Greencastle Church of the Brethren and enjoyed being with family and watching little league baseball.
Surviving are two sons, Dwyane Everts (wife Brandy) of Huntersville, NC and Douglas Everts (wife Casey) of New Brockton, AL; five grandchildren, Daelynn, Lizzy, Ella, Kayla, and Jensen; 3 great-grandchildren; six siblings, Nancy Bumbaugh, Lana Jones, Pam Stockslager, Pat Mendez, Nina Reisenger, and Dale Murray; a stepbrother, Dave Murray; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis I. Everts in 2020.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 11 AM, at Greencastle Church of the Brethren, 36 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA 17225, where Pastor Fred Keener will officiate. Interment will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., Greencastle, PA.
